ELMHURST, Ill. – For the third time this season, South Dakota State’s Macy Miller was named Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The junior from Mitchell helped the Jackrabbits to a commanding 96-64 win over Wichita State Dec. 20. She recorded her sixth 20-plus point game of the season and 19th of her career with a team-high 22 points. Miller was a perfect 9-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range. The guard dished out a career-high eight assists, and added two rebounds and a steal.

Miller picked up the weekly honor for the seventh time in her career and shares this week’s honor with Western Illinois’ Emily Clemens.

South Dakota State (10-3) returns to action Friday when it plays at Florida Gulf Coast at 6 p.m.

Men’s basketball

For the second week in a row, South Dakota State’s Mike Daum was named Summit League’ Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Daum averaged a double-double over two starts, putting up 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game alongside a 61.3 field-goal percentage.

He now has more than 1,700 points for his career and sits fifth on the Jackrabbit scoring chart.

The junior from Kimball, Neb., started the week with a 35-point, 14-rebound performance against Drake on Dec. 19. He matched his career-high of 14 field goals and hit four 3-pointers in the game. It was the seventh 35-point, 10-plus rebound performance of his career, four more than any other Division I player since 2010-11.

Daum added 12 points and seven rebounds at UMKC last Friday, going 5-for-7 from the field to help the Jacks reach 11 wins before Christmas for the first time in its Division I history.

He is a seven-time Player of the Week selection and earned the award for the fourth time this season.

The Jackrabbits (11-5) return to the court Saturday against Presentation. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. from Frost Arena.
