Morgan to hold senior recital at SDSU

BROOKINGS – Matthew Morgan, a music education major at South Dakota State University, will present his senior recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the SDSU campus.

Morgan, a French horn player from Sioux Falls, will play selections from artists such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Bernhard Heiden. Morgan will be joined by Xuan Kuang, instructor of group piano and artistic collaboration at SDSU, on the piano for two pieces. He will also be joined by SDSU students William Reynolds and Caroline Reyner on the trumpet and Andrew Deaver and Stephen Osterberg on the trombone for a Canadian brass quintet arrangement of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

Morgan is involved with the SDSU Wind Symphony, The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band, SDSU Concert Choir and the SDSU Brass Quintet.
