Mors, Yankton drop Brookings, 61-49

YANKTON – The Bobcats led early but couldn’t shut down Matt Mors as the freshman dropped 38 to lead Yankton to a 61-49 Eastern South Dakota Conference win on Tuesday night at the Summit Center.

Brookings led 14-13 after the first 8 minutes, but the Bucks rallied to lead 28-24 at halftime and still led by four, 41-37, entering the final frame before pulling away for the 12-point victory.

Rex Ryken added nine points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Bucks, who improved to 13-6 overall and 11-4 in the ESD.

Drew Cole led the Bobcats, 4-15 and 4-12, with 17 points as Josh Sell chipped in with 11. Trevor Woodall grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Brookings closes the regular season at Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Friday. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
