ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State junior Brittney Morse was named Summit League Softball Player of the Week for her performance last weekend, announced Monday by the conference office.

Morse started all five games for the Jackrabbits at the UNI Dome Tournament and hit .400 (6-of-15) with four home runs. The catcher drove in six runs and scored five of her own for SDSU, while posting 1.200 slugging and .471 on-base percentages.

In SDSU's win over Toledo, the Houston, Texas, native blasted a pair of home runs.

Morse currently leads the conference in home runs and RBI and is already a quarter of the way towards breaking SDSU's single-season home run record.
