Motorcyclist injured in Sunday crash near Volga

VOLGA – A Sunday motorcycle accident at the intersection of 464th Avenue and 214th Street, south of Volga, left an Aurora man injured and his motorcycle with an estimated $6,500 in damage.

According to a news release from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, Josiah Tschetter, 30, was riding his 2008 Harley Davidson with another motorcycle when he lost his eye protection. Once he lost his glasses, Tschetter went into the northbound lane where he lost control, laid the motorcycle over and entered the ditch, according to Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring in the release.

Tschetter was taken to a hospital by Brookings Ambulance with unknown injuries, and he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, Sebring said.

The incident, which occurred at 5:14 p.m., is being investigated by the sheriff’s office. The Volga Fire Department also assisted with the incident response.
