VOLGA – A Brookings man has been identified as the person who died early Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash south of Volga.
Donald Adams, 57, was the driver and only occupant. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from South Dakota Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan.
Preliminary crash information indicates a 2016 Honda Civic LX was southbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went off the roadway and rolled, 8 miles south of Volga, near the intersection of 464th Avenue and 220th Street.
Both the time of the crash and seat belt use are under investigation, the release says.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
