New ENT specialist and audiologist come to outreach clinic

BROOKINGS – ENT Specialist Dr. Thomas Tamura, M.D., and Audiologist Dr. Holly Ralston, Au.D., of Midwest Ear, Nose and Throat will begin seeing patients at Brookings Health System’s outreach clinic on Jan. 16. Both will be available to see patients the third Wednesday of each month. 

As an experienced otolaryngologist, Tamura is available to assist patients in total care of the ear, nose, throat and sinuses. Surgical procedures he may perform at Brookings Health System include tonsil removal, adenoid removal, PE tube insertion in the ear canal and sinus surgery.

Tamura performed a residency in head and neck surgery at the University of Vermont/Fletcher Allen Healthcare, in Burlington, Vermont, and performed a fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Department of Otolarynology – Head and Neck Surgery, Harvard School of Medicine. Tamura received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School UMDNJ in Newark, New Jersey.  

Ralston is available to assist patients in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders. She works with patients to detect and assess the extent of hearing loss and determine the best rehabilitation of that loss, including recommendations for hearing aids and other assistive devices. 

Ralston is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and received her doctorate of audiology from the University of South Dakota.
