Nicolls tied for third at Jackrabbit Invitational in Nevada

After the first two rounds of the 10th-annual Jackrabbit Invitational Friday, South Dakota State senior Jared Nicolls is tied for third and the Jacks are tied for seventh.

Nicolls shot a 1-over par 145 (71-74) and collected a pair of birdies on the sixth and seventh holes and an eagle on the par 5 14th hole. James Madison’s Nacho Montero leads the 89-player field, shooting a 9-under par 135.

The Jackrabbits shot a two-round 608 (304-304) at the par 72, 7,402-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada. The Dukes lead the 14-team field by 14 strokes at 578.

SDSU’s Jacob Otta is tied for 34th (78-75=153) and collected three birdies while Jaxon Lynn is tied for 37th (76-78=154) with a pair of birdies.

Alejandro Perazzo is tied for 47th (77-79=156) and Jones Comerford is tied for 61st (79-79=158).

Playing as individuals, Jonah Dohrer is tied for 26th (76-75=151), Harry Duggan is tied for 54th (76-81=157) and Sam Batta is 80th (77-88=165).
