IRVING, Texas – Nine members of the 2016 senior class for the South Dakota State University football team were honored Wednesday as members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society.

Receiving recognition were: Jesse Bobbit, LB, Palatine, Ill.; Shayne Gottlob, DT, Salem; Connor Landberg, WR Laguna Hills, Calif.; Cole Langer, DT, Dell Rapids; Seth Lansman, OL, Harlan, Iowa; Nick Mears, S, Milbank; Kyle Paris, RB, Aliso Viejo, Calif.; Thayer Trenhaile, LS, Volga; Mitch Vejvoda, TE, Homer Glen, Ill.

Sponsored by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, the Hampshire Honor Society recognizes college football players from all divisions who have exhausted their eligibility and maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better throughout their college careers. A total of 1,089 players from 297 schools qualified for membership this past season, establishing new single-year records in both categories.
