North Main Dental honored for support of National Guard

BROOKINGS – South Dakota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program, announced that D.r Konard Hauffee, DDS, with North Main Dental in Brookings, was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of his service member employee.

The Patriot Award, created by ESGR, publicly recognizes individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who, like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.

Hauffee was nominated for being supportive of his employee, who serves in the Army National Guard Medical Command.

Sara Cantine said that she nominated Hauffee, who is also a retired colonel from the South Dakota Army National Guard, “because he is constantly praising me for my service. He goes above and beyond to ensure I am able to have time off for drill or needing to leave early. He has never questioned my service and is one of my biggest supporters. I probably would not have re-enlisted if I did not have the support of Dr. Hauffee and my family.”

Hauffee stated that he will always be a supporter of the South Dakota Army National Guard and was very honored by this award.

ESGR seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.

ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies, resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members, and acting as the employers’ principal advocate within DoD.
