Officer injured, suspect arrested

BROOKINGS – A man was arrested and an officer was injured after the man allegedly tried to enter a residence through a window, according to Brookings Police.

Enos Horned Eagle, 22, no address available, was arrested on multiple charges and transported to the Brookings County Detention Center, Sgt. Joel Perry said.

The incident was reported at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, and officers were called to the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South for an individual causing a disturbance, Perry said.

The man had left by the time officers arrived, but they located him in the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue South, he said.

“He was attempting to enter a residence through a window. The officers made contact with the man and he resisted their efforts to detain him,” Perry said.

“He was subsequently arrested for resisting arrest, obstruction and simple assault times two on law enforcement officers,” Perry said.

“One officer did receive treatment at the Brookings hospital; was released,” Perry said.
