WHITE – The James Valley Christian girls and Dell Rapids St. Mary boys won team titles in the Deubrook Area Cross Country Invite on Saturday at Six Mile Creek.
The Dolphins’ Ellie Olsen was medalist in the 5K with a time of 20 minutes, 58.06 seconds.
Baltic’s Ana Wilkison was runner-up in 21:06.28. Colman-Egan’s Reese Luze placed third with a 21:48.72 clocking.
The Lady Vikings took the team crown with 22 points. Deuel (22) was second, Deubrook (30) third, Colman-Egan (36) fourth and Sioux Valley (44) fifth. Lake Preston (60) finished eighth.
Isabelle Bloker paced the Cossacks, taking seventh in 22:21.44.
The Hawks’ Abby Rhode (22:58.12) and the Dolphins’ Andrea Vandermeer (23:07) were 10th and 11th, respectively.
Arlington’s Victoria Donovan (23:26.69) ended up 13th and the Divers’ Ashlyn DeKnikker (23:36.59) rounded out the top 15.
Completing the Dolphins’ team score, Joeve Krier (24:24.25) took 25th. CE’s Ava Mousel (25:47.75) was 33rd.
DRSM totaled 36 team points to edge second-place Clark/Willow Lake (37). Lyman (42) was third.
Estelline/Hendricks (44) took fourth, Sioux Valley (47) fifth, Deubrook (52) seventh, Elkton-Lake Benton (82) 10th and Lake Preston (88) 11th.
JVC’s Daniel Ayoroa won the 5K race with an 18:11.41 clocking. DRSM’s Jacob Vogel placed second in 18:12.84.
The Redhawks’ Riley Benning finished third in a time of 18:21.38. The Cossacks’ Colby Gatzke was fourth in 18:27.78. The Divers’ Rhett McMaster crossed in 18:46.62 to place sixth.
The Dolphins’ Parker Crooks rounded out the top 10 with a 19:33.56 clocking.
Sioux Valley’s Skylar Schwab (19:51.88) took 12th, Estelline/Hendricks’ Justin Buschenfeld (20:06.81) was 16th and the Elks’ Riley Hunter (20:08) ended up 17th.
