BROOKINGS – A packing party was held by CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) at South Dakota State University on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Students brought toys, school supplies and hygiene items and packed them into shoeboxes. These filled shoeboxes are eventually delivered to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way through a Samaritan’s Purse project called Operation Christmas Child. In 2018, more than 10.6 million shoebox gifts were collected and distributed worldwide.
Brookings area shoeboxes may be brought to Holy Life Tabernacle on 241 Mustang Pass, Brookings, from now until Monday morning, Nov. 25. From there the shoeboxes will be delivered to a central processing center and then shipped around the world.
