Panel discussion to focus on Germany, transatlantic alliance


BROOKINGS – The South Dakota World Affairs Council will partner with SDSU School of American and Global Studies and World Affairs Councils of America’s “Engage America: Wunderbar Together 2020 Speaker Series” in hosting a 60-minute virtual panel discussion of security challenges facing Germany and the transatlantic alliance. 

The virtual panel discussion will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23. Interested persons can access the virtual program by via Zoom link found on SDWAC website www.southdakotaworldaffairscouncil.org. Time will be allotted for Q&A.

The panel will be moderated by SDSU Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Political Science Bob Burns and will feature panelists Niels Annen, German deputy secretary of foreign affairs; Bill Clifford, president and CEO of World Affairs Councils of America; and Jon Stauff, SDSU associate vice president for international affairs. 

The Wunderbar Together 2020 Speaker Series is dedicated to broadening and deepening public understanding of Germany and the U.S.-German relationship regarding mutual security, economic, trade, people-to-people and cultural ties.
