Perazzo in the Top 10 at The Jackrabbit

VALENTINE, Neb. – After the opening round of The Jackrabbit on Sunday, South Dakota State men's golfer Alejandro Perazzo is tied for seventh.

The Jackrabbits shot a two-over par 290 on the par 72, 7,239 yard Dunes at Prairie Club. Santa Clara leads the 13-team field, firing a 23-under par 265. The Bronco's Hayden Shieh shot an eight-under par 64 to lead the 80-player field.

Perazzo shot a career-low four-under par 68 to with four birdies and is four shots out of the lead. Sophomore Alejandro Restrepo is tied for 26th, shooting a two-under par 70.

Junior Jaxon Lynn is tied for 68th (75), classmate Jared Nicolls (77) and senior Michael Duch (77) are tied for 76th.

Playing as individuals, senior Naqiuddin Fuad is tied for 68th (75), senior Zach Sackett is tied for 72nd (76) and sophomore Jacob Otta is tied for 80th (78).

Up Next: South Dakota State returns to the course Monday for the second round.
