BROOKINGS – The Brookings-Deuel Rural Water System recently announced that nominating petitions will be accepted for two director positions in:
• District One: Medary, Brookings, Sterling and Oakwood townships
• District Five: Oak Lake, Lake Hendricks and Scandinavia Townships
Bylaws of the system require that any current member in good standing is eligible to seek election from the district they reside in, and have their principal (legal) address within that district, for which they are seeking election.
No nominations will be accepted from the “floor” at the annual meeting; incumbent directors are also required to submit petitions.
Petitions must be delivered and completed by Feb. 28 to the business office.
Petitions are available at the system’s business office and must be signed by 10 qualified (current) members of the Brookings-Deuel Rural Water System residing within that district to be represented. Members seeking elections will be identified in the official “Annual Meeting Notice” mailed to members of the Brookings-Deuel Rural Water System. Any questions, please contact the office.
Petitions are available at: Brookings-Deuel RWS, 47602 SD Highway 28, Toronto, 57268, 605-794-4201.
