Phyllis G. Miller, 99, of Flandreau, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Riverview Healthcare Community. 

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. Burial is in Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Phyllis was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Madison, to Andrew J. and Cora M. (Grant) Peters. She attended Flandreau Public School, playing basketball in high school and the violin. Phyllis married Clifford J. Miller on Feb. 22, 1938, at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Flandreau. 

She was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting afghans and was a good cook and baker. Her husband died Oct. 24, 1962, and Phyllis continued to live on the farm until the late 1980s when she moved into Flandreau. Phyllis was a nurse’s aide and activity aide at Riverview Manor for nearly 19 years. 

She moved to Riverview Apartments Assisted Living in 2007 and became a resident at Riverview Manor in August 2013.  

Phyllis is survived by four children, Corrine (Roger) Ehlers of Flandreau, Larry (Shirley) Miller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carolyn (Roger) Story of Dell Rapids and James (Debra) Miller of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. 

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Clifford; son Robert and his wife Sylvia; grandson Troy Miller; great-grandson Wade Lacey; one brother and three sisters.
