Pierre sweeps Brookings

PIERRE – Pierre dropped Brookings 25-19, 28-26, 25-22 in an Eastern South Dakota Conference volleyball match Thursday night.

Erika Stout had 10 kills and 15 digs for the Lady Govs (5-6, 2-3). Kodi Severyn and Cayley Bush added five kills apiece. Severyn also notched a pair of service aces.

Chloe Kaiser netted two aces, while Bush and Emry Heiss both tallied a block.

Hallie Gronlun (15) and Nicole Sarringar (11) combined for 26 set assists. Kaiser came up with 14 digs and Abbi Kitts 12.

The Bobcats’ Annika Johnson finished with 12 kills. Grace Eggebrecht chipped in with seven kills and Kailee Bartels five.

Michaela Jewett totaled 28 set assists and 22 digs.

Megan Gilk came up with 22 digs. Emma Hardin contributed two aces.

Brookings (2-7, 2-5) travels to Yankton on Tuesday.

• Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Estelline 0

LAKE BENTON, Minn. – The Lady Elks used a balanced offensive attack to sweep the Lady Redmen 25-15, 25-9, 25-20 in a Dakota Valley Conference match.

Samantha Schindler had 10 kills, Hannah Krog eight, Aubrey Wirth seven, Baylee Jandahl six and Taylor Bales five.

Callie Otkin dished out 31 set assists. Abygail Landsman notched 28 digs and Karlie Christensen 13 to go with a pair of aces.

Estelline’s Marissa Golas, Maria Martinez and Tiffany Vohlken each had two kills. Chandelle Thompson came up with nine digs.

ELB (8-5, 4-1) is host to the Don Magnus Tournament on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Elkton. Estelline (0-13, 0-4) plays host to Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Monday.

• Arlington 3, De Smet 0

ARLINGTON – The Cardinals cruised to a 25-13, 25-18 and 25-15 DVC win over De Smet on Thursday.

Angela Fuhr led Arlington with 14 kills and a pair of service aces as Lyndsey Rowbotham added 10 kills.

Marisa Baker finished with 24 sets assists to go along with 12 digs and three aces. Jeryn Christensen led the Card defense with 15 digs and served three aces while Madysn Gilbertson collected 11 digs as Arlington improved to 14-7 overall and 4-1 in the DVC.

Madisyn Miller and Kenzie Blue tallied five kills apiece for the Lady Bulldogs, who dropped to 9-6 and 2-2 in the conference.

Blue also had 23 digs as Taylor Halverson (4) and Rynn Osthus (6) combined for 10 set assists.

Lyric Gruenhagen notched 27 digs and had a block as Kristen Poppen chipped in with 13 digs and a block.

De Smet plays host to Clark/Willow Lake on Monday while Arlington travels to Rutland to face ORR.

• Flandreau 3, Dell Rapids 1

FLANDREAU – The Fliers dropped the first set, 25-13, before rallying to win three close sets – 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 – to knock off Dell Rapids on Thursday.

Makenzey Burgraff finished with 11 kills while Brooke Iott added 10 as Flandreau improved to 10-11 on the season.

Jaycie Pulscher notched 28 set assists as Rylee Iott, Brooke Iott and Marianna Pavlis collected two blocks apiece. Anna Gassman and Rylee Iott each contributed four digs.

Trinity Gordon collected a double-double with 11 kills and 29 digs as Hannah Fletcher had 29 set assists. Brooke Klein served a pair of aces to go with 15 digs as the Quarriers dropped to 8-3.

On Tuesday, Flandreau travels to Volga to take on the Cossacks.

• Colman-Egan 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 1

COLMAN – After winning the first two sets – 25-15 and 25-14 – the Hawks dropped Set 3, 25-22, but recovered to close out the DVC match with a 25-15 fourth-set win.

Braiden Westley had a big game for Colman-Egan as she finished with nine kills, 20 digs, four aces, a solo block and two block assists.

Shelby Hiller and Olivia Baumberger each had six kills as Baumberger added a pair of solo blocks and three block assists.

Elizabeth Moore collected 17 digs while Savannah Moore contributed 19 set assists and six aces.

Maddie Schwebach led DRSM with five kills and two solo blocks as Casey Geraets finished with 20 assists and a pair of solo blocks.

Adyn Heinricy led the defense with 14 digs as the Cardinals dropped to 5-7 and 2-3 in the DVC.

The Hawks, who evened their record at 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the DVC, compete in the Don Magnus Tournament on Saturday in Elkton.

• Lake Preston 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

LAKE PRESTON – The Divers limited ORR to single digits in two sets on the way to a DVC sweep on Thursday.

Lake Preston won by set scores of 25-8, 25-11 and 25-9 to improve to 9-6 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.

Rylie Brown led the Divers at the net with 13 kills and a pair of blocks as Sasha Andrews and Lexie Larsen finished with four kills apiece.

Olivia Christensen (8) and Larsen (6) combined for 14 set assists while Meriah Flegel notched 16 digs and three aces.

Victoria Malisch and Kylie Anderson each had four kills for the Lady Raiders, who dropped to 1-11 and 0-4.

Malisch added 15 digs and Anderson chipped in with 10 while Khloe Tieman tallied eight set assists.

ORR travels to Estelline on Monday while the Divers play host to Great Plains Lutheran on Tuesday.
