BROOKINGS – Interested in the future of Brookings? The Comprehensive Plan update process has begun, and the city wants your help.

Brookings will hold a kickoff meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Brookings Activity Center, 320 Fifth Ave., to gather input for the Brookings Comprehensive Plan.

A comprehensive plan is a long-term community vision which guides and shapes growth and development. It will also be utilized for public policy decisions on land use, infrastructure, housing, economic development and more.

During the kickoff, participants will have a chance to share ideas with the planning team pertaining to growth, development and land use, including opportunities and challenges for Brookings.

The meeting will be an open house format, so stop by any time between 6 and 7:30 p.m. April 18. Come for a quick visit, or stay for the entire gathering. People are also encouraged to participate by completing a short online survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/PlanBrookings.
