INDIANAPOLIS – South Dakota State University 141-pounder Henry Pohlmeyer was awarded an at-large selection Tuesday, becoming the seventh Jackrabbit to earn a trip to next week’s NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

A sophomore from Johnston, Iowa, Pohlmeyer has compiled a 22-9 overall record and placed fourth at last weekend’s Big 12 Conference Championship. He has won 11 of his last 14 matches since the start of the calendar year.

Six Jackrabbits, including Big 12 individual champions Seth Gross (133 pounds) and Nate Rotert (197 pounds), earned NCAA berths based on their placings in relation to allocations awarded at the conference level during competition March 3-4 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. SDSU’s seven total qualifiers marks the most in program history at the Division I level.

Seedings and pairings for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will be announced at 5 p.m Wednesday during a selection show airing on NCAA.com. The three-day tournament runs from March 15-17 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
