Wednesday, Dec. 19

12:29 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a theft report. A projector was stolen from a lawn in the 400 block of 15th Avenue.


Thursday, Dec. 20

8:38 a.m. Officer Popp took a report of fraud. The reporting party, from Pennsylvania, was reporting fraudulent use of her credit card online with a package being delivered in Brookings. The incident is under investigation.


8:55 a.m. Officers responded to the 200 block of 32nd Avenue South for a harassment call. A report was filed.


11:26 p.m. Officers were called to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a fight. One male was taken to jail for disorderly conduct and intentional damage to property.

Friday, Dec. 21

12:55 a.m. Officer Hart responded to the 300 block of Third Avenue to take a report of an assault that occurred in the 500 block of 12th Street South.

2:51 p.m. Officer Jurrens located a new knife set along the path of a vehicle pursuit.

9:15 p.m. Possession of marijuana, 2 ounces or less; ingest, inhale substance to become intoxicated; possession or use of drug paraphernalia; DUI-second offense; reckless driving

Saturday, Dec. 22

1:15 a.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a report of an ongoing physical altercation. One individual was brought to the Brookings Hospital. Multiple charges are pending.

2:54 p.m. A resident reported suspicious activity at an apartment building laundry room.

10:37 p.m. Underage purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages

Sunday, Dec. 23

2:31 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Western Avenue in response to a report of a possible domestic dispute. Investigation showed the incident was non-violent, and the parties involved were separated. A report was taken.

8:27 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a parole violation at the 2400 block of Tumbleweed Road. A report was filed.

6:20 p.m. Officer Engstrom took a report of theft from mail in the 1400 block of Windermere Way. A report was filed.

7:19 p.m. Officer Franklin responded to the report of theft in the 2200 block of Sixth Street.

7:20 p.m. Officers took a report of drug activity. A report was filed.

7:29 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sixth Street to a report of simple assault-intimidation. The incident is under investigation.
