12:29 a.m. Officer Hart responded to the 1800 block of Sixth Street for a vehicle vs. tree, non-injury accident. A city accident report was completed.

Friday, Jan. 25

3:25 a.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1000 Block of First Street. One male was arrested for DUI.

10:18 a.m. Sexual contact with a child less than 16 – offender 5 or more years older

12:41 p.m. A multi-jurisdictional scam was reported to Brookings Police.

7:15 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the Brookings County Detention Center to a report of narcotics found. One person was charged.

Saturday, Jan. 26

2:04 a.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg was notified of a hit-and-run crash that had just occurred in the 300 block of Third Street. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. An investigation is pending.

2:28 a.m. Officer Engstrom responded to the 500 block of 12th Street South for a report of a sexual assault. Investigation is currently in process.

2:30 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Sixth Street. One male was arrested for DUI.

11:05 a.m. Officers took a report of a motor vehicle theft in the 1400 block of Fourth Street.

11:48 a.m. Officer McCaskill was requested to the 900 block of Medary Avenue South for the report of a non-injury accident. One driver was issued a traffic citation. A state accident report was completed.

2:33 p.m. Officer McCaskill was requested to the 800 block of First Avenue for the report of suspicious damage to a motor vehicle. The vehicle owner suspected someone of attempting to break into her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Sunday, Jan. 27

11:12 a.m. Officers took a report of a crash at the intersection of Sixth Street and 20th Avenue.

3:47 p.m. Officers took a report of a crash.
