Thursday, Feb. 18
3:12 a.m. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 1000 block of Sixth Street. The vehicle stopped initially but took off shortly after. A vehicle pursuit ensued, and the vehicle drove into oncoming traffic multiple times. The vehicle pursuit was discontinued in rural Brookings County. A report was generated.
10:02 a.m. An individual came to the Brookings Police Department to report a theft that occurred in the 400 block of 15th Street South. A report was taken.
1:07 p.m. Officers took a report of possible window peeking in the 400 block of Main Avenue South.
Friday, Feb. 19
2:10 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for a license plate violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.
7:51 a.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of Main Avenue South for a multi-vehicle crash. Upon investigation it was found to have four vehicles involved, and a state reportable accident was completed.
10:16 a.m. Assistant Chief Fishbaugher requested I complete a narrative on this case regarding a complaint against Brookings Police Department officers for excessive use of force during an arrest.

Saturday, Feb. 20
12:13 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for a window tint and equipment violation. The driver admitted to possessing marijuana. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
12:43 a.m. Brookings Police were dispatched to Ray’s for the report of an individual waving a knife around. An arrest was made.
1:53 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.
6:57 a.m. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Western Ave for a report of sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.
8:48 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a non-injury hit-and-run of a parked motor vehicle in the 3000 block of LeFevre Drive. A report was filed.
