9:43 a.m. Officers and medical personnel were dispatched to the 1000 block of Southland Lane for medical assistance. A report was generated.

9:57 a.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision at the intersection of Sixth Street and Sunrise Ridge Road.

2:47 p.m. Officer Kreutner responded to the 500 block of Sunrise Ridge Road for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A report was generated.

5:18 p.m. Officer Warkenthien took a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 2200 block of Sixth Street. An investigation was made, and a city accident report has been filed.

Thursday, July 4

12:32 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for outstanding warrants and driving under the influence.

11:30 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

1:13 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of 17th Avenue and Third Street in reference to a two-vehicle, non-injury crash. A report was filed.

1:14 p.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. During the stop, factors of criminal activity were observed. Police service dog Gina was deployed around the vehicle and indicated to the odor of illegal drugs. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Friday, July 5

12:42 p.m. Brookings Police responded to Hy-Vee for a fraudulently cashed check. A male suspect was arrested for identity and petty theft.

4:26 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Fourth Street for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A report was filed.

6:26 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Orchard Drive. One male was arrested for DUI. A report was filed.
