Saturday, July 10

1:13 a.m. Brookings Police arrested a male subject for driving under the influence of alcohol.

2:07 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for a lane usage violation. The driver was arrested for DUI. A passenger fled from the scene. Charges are also pending for that male.

2:17 a.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

10:59 a.m. Welfare check

9:10 p.m. An individual was stopped for speeding in the 400 block of 20th Street South. During the traffic stop, the individual was arrested for DUI.

9:34 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 1700 block of Torey Pines for a report of a loud party. Renters were cited.

Sunday, July 11

12:12 p.m. An out-of-state counselor called to report possible child abuse in Brookings. The investigation is ongoing.

1:58 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of suspicious activity that occurred at Pioneer Park. A report has been generated.

Monday, July 12

9:04 a.m. The Brookings Police Department assisted with locating an individual for an emergency mental health evaluation. The individual was taken to the Brookings ER for a mental health evaluation.

9:33 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a possible child abuse. The incident is under investigation.

2:38 p.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in regard to suspicious activity that occurred in the 900 block of 22nd Avenue South. An occupant was placed under arrest for two outstanding arrests.

3:44 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the intersection of Sixth Street and Medary Avenue for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A city accident report was completed.

5:02 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the Brookings emergency room for a report of a sexual assault that occurred on July 9 in the city of Brookings. A report was generated, and an investigation is ongoing.
