Thursday, Sept. 2

1:04 p.m. Officer Schneider was made aware of an assault that had taken place at the Brookings High School. An investigation was made, and charges are pending.

2:53 p.m. Officers took a report of a theft from a building at 1009 Southland Lane. The incident is under investigation.

4:28 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident.

7:34 p.m. Officers responded to a non-injury crash in the 200 block of Fourth Street. A report was generated.

Friday, Sept. 3

7:43 a.m. Officers received a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located at 2110 22nd Ave. S. Officers took another report of a fight that had occurred a week prior involving the same juvenile. That incident is under investigation.

9:23 a.m. Brookings Police responded to a report in regard to unsanitary living conditions in the 600 block of 12th Avenue. An officer made contact with the homeowner and was allowed entry. A report was generated and was forwarded to the Department of Social Services for further follow up.

3:56 p.m. Abuse or cruelty to a minor under age 7

9:46 p.m. Law enforcement stopped a female driver. During the stop, a DUI investigation was completed and the driver arrested for DUI.

11:27 p.m. Officers responded to the 2000 block of 20th Street South to a report of a domestic disturbance. One arrest was made.

Saturday, Sept. 4

2:41 a.m. UPD found a downed street sign at Eighth Avenue and Seventh Street. A report was filed.

2:04 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of suspicious behavior in the 2000 block of First Street. A report was filed.

3:21 p.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a welfare check in the 500 block of Fourth Street South. A report was filed.

8:18 p.m. Officer Doremus conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of 15th Street South. The driver was arrested for DUI.

10:29 p.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of 12th Street South for a speeding violation. During the traffic stop, the driver was arrested for a zero tolerance DUI, and the passenger was arrested for fictitious ID.

Sunday, Sept. 5

7:27 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Third Avenue South (Lamplighter Village) for a report of a domestic assault. Further investigation led to an arrest of one individual for simple assault-domestic and interference with emergency communication.

11:18 a.m. The Brookings Police Department investigated a report of a stolen vehicle in the 300 block of Front Street.

8:19 p.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Third Street South for a speeding violation. During the traffic stop, the officer seized two distribution-size bags of marijuana.

Monday, Sept. 6

12:10 a.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of 13th Street West for an equipment violation. During the traffic stop, it was determined the driver of the vehicle was driving under the influence of cannabis and was placed under arrest.

3 a.m. Officers took a report of stolen property in the 200 block of 16th Ave. The incident is currently under investigation.

11:22 a.m. An officer located a private property, non-injury crash in the 2400 block of Sixth Street. A report was filed.

3:05 p.m. Officers took a report of a stolen iPhone 12 from a business in the 900 block of 22nd Avenue South. A report was filed.
