1:31 a.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a moving and speeding violation. During the investigation, two occupants were arrested for multiple drug charges.

2:35 a.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop near the 500 block of 12th Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI. A report has been generated.

7:09 a.m. Brookings Police responded to a hit-and-run crash in the 2800 block of Medary Ave. S.

8:31 a.m. A Brookings citizen came to the police department to report a mountain lion was captured on his backyard surveillance camera.

4:36 p.m. An officer took a report of a bike that was stolen from the 500 block of Elm Avenue. A report was filed.

Thursday, Sept. 30

2:34 a.m. The Brookings Police Department made contact with an individual who appeared to be under the influence while attempting to fill up with gas at 916 Sixth St. During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI.

7:53 a.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of Fifth Avenue to a report of intentional damage. A report was taken.

2:52 p.m. Law enforcement took a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident.

3:10 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 2200 block of 10th Street for a hit-and-run accident. A report was filed.

3:11 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Sixth Avenue South for a trespassing complaint. A report was taken.

5:41 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a call for service in regard to an altercation between a father and son.

6:16 p.m. Brookings Police responded to an accident. A report was filed.


7:36 p.m. Brookings Police responded to an accident with reported injuries. The driver of a vehicle was found to be impaired. Charges will be filed.

11:17 p.m. Officer Doremus responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 900 block of Eighth Street. A city accident report was completed.

Friday, Oct. 1

9:26 a.m. Officer Schneider spoke with a juvenile female about unwanted sexual contact. A report was generated, and an investigation has started.

12:56 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Medary Avenue to a report of a possible domestic dispute. A report was generated.

9:21 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a two-vehicle crash. One driver was arrested for DUI.
