Saturday, Oct. 3

1:54 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 bock of Seventh Avenue South. One male was cited for a drug violation. A report was generated.

7:16 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of West Eighth Street for a report of a violation of a protection order. Further investigation led to an arrest at the 600 block of Third Street South.

8:03 p.m. Possession or use of drug paraphernalia

Sunday, Oct. 4

12:35 a.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a male yelling racial slurs. He was later taken into custody for disorderly conduct and additional charges.

11:46 a.m. Brookings responded to Runnings for a theft.

1:48 p.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was arrested for warrants.

5:02 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the liquor store in regard to a possible fictitious driver’s license. One male was arrested.

Monday, Oct. 5

8:38 a.m. Brookings Police responded to a minor accident. A report was filed.

9:28 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to the 400 block of 17th Avenue for a report of a non-injury, two-vehicle crash. A report was filed.

1:16 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft from the 2000 block of David Cove. A report was filed.

2:48 p.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by an unlicensed driver. A report was filed.

3:13 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft from the 300 block of Dakota Avenue. A report was filed.

6:46 p.m. Officers received a report of a stolen bicycle from the 1400 block of Pheasant Run Road from between the dates of Sept. 26 and Oct. 5.

Tuesday, Oct. 6

12:22 p.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg spoke with a female regarding her juvenile son stealing from her. The incident was documented.

3:51 p.m. Sexual contact

4:45 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to the intersection of Sixth Street and Jackrabbit Avenue for a non-injury, two-vehicle crash. A report was filed.

5:43 p.m. Law enforcement investigated a two-vehicle accident.

5:45 p.m. Officers responded to an accident in 700 block of Fourth Street. A report was filed.

9:40 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 700 block of Third Street South in reference to a domestic assault.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

11:50 a.m. Officers spoke with a Brookings resident regarding his pacemaker being hacked. A report was filed.

3:20 p.m. Brookings Police took a call in regard to stolen property in the 700 block of Brooklawn Drive. A report was generated.

4:57 p.m. Brookings Police received a report in regard to a missing child. Approximately three hours had passed since he was supposed to be home from school. A state case was issued.

10:40 p.m. Driving without headlights; DUI-first offense

Thursday, Oct. 8

2:21 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of 3rd Ave for a break-in. One male was later arrested for burglary and additional charges. A report was generated.

9:48 a.m. Officer Schneider was made aware of two students vaping in the bathroom of the high school. Two juvenile males were issued citations for tobacco violations.

11:15 a.m. Officers responded to the 1200 block of Fourth Street for a missing 2-year-old. The child was located a short time later and returned.

12:55 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Eighth Avenue South and Third Street South for an individual exposing his genitals to the public. The male was arrested and a report was filed.
