Saturday, Oct. 31

1:40 a.m. Failure to report accident immediately; leaving accident scene – failure to provide information

4:38 a.m. Officers responded to a welfare check near the 2900 block of Medary Avenue South for a male passed out in his vehicle. The male was arrested on suspicion of DUI. A report was generated.

11:28 a.m. Dispatch notified Officer Doremus of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 300 block of 22nd Avenue.

1:36 p.m. Officer Schneider received a fraud report. A report was generated.

2:40 p.m. Officer Pollman took a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 100 block of Main Avenue South.

5:17 p.m. Officer Pollman conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Olwein Street. The driver was cited for no insurance.

10:31 p.m. The Brookings Police Department arrested a driver for DUI.

Sunday, Nov. 1

12:19 a.m. Brookings Police assisted Court Services with probation violation. One male was arrested.

12:26 a.m. Officer Larsen received a call in regard to a protection order violation. The suspected male is being arrested on complaint for the violation.

1:21 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Avenue for a bar fight. One male was arrested for three counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct.

1:25 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Sixth Street for a disorderly juvenile. The juvenile was cited for underage possession of alcohol, and additional charges are pending. She was release to a parent. A report was generated.

1:39 a.m. Officers responded to the 9 Bar and Nightclub for a report of a fight. Officers arrived and detained a male inside the bar. After an investigation, the detained male was arrested for simple assault.

5:08 a.m. Officers received a phone call in regard to intentional damage to a vehicle occurring in the 1100 block of Seventh Street. A report was filed.

9:54 a.m. Officer Pollman took a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 600 block of Second Street. A vehicle traveling eastbound hit four mailboxes, leaving vehicle parts. Investigation is ongoing to locate the suspect’s vehicle, which is a white 2008-2012 Chevy Malibu with damage to driver’s side headlight and fender.

1:39 p.m. Sgt. Franklin took a report of suspicious activity in the 200 block of Main Avenue South.

4:23 p.m. Sgt. Franklin took a report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of Main Avenue.

7:47 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Eighth Street South for a possible domestic. A report was generated.

Monday, Nov. 2

12:56 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Seventh Street to a report of a domestic assault that took place on Nov. 1.

7:58 a.m. Non-injury accident

8:56 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a request from Court Services to take an absconder into custody. The individual was found and arrested.

10:12 a.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of Brooklawn Drive to a report of threats and harassment.

10:46 a.m. Officer Schneider was informed of a student at Brookings High School who was reportedly high on methamphetamine.

10:56 a.m. Officers took a report of a protection order violation in the 100 block of Sixth Street West.

2:58 p.m. Grand theft – felony

6:58 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 700 block of Brooklawn Drive for a burglary that had occurred. A report was filed, and the incident remains under investigation.
