Friday, Nov. 5

12:05 a.m. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the 1900 block for a vehicle exceeding the speed limit. Further investigation led an arrest of the driver for DUI-first offense.

6:03 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to an armed robbery in the 500 block of Sixth Street. The incident is under investigation.

9:36 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the Village Square Mall parking lot. A report has been generated.

11:23 a.m. An officer with the Brookings Police Department responded to the 500 block of Sixth Street due to a report of a two-vehicle crash. No injuries were reported.

4:44 p.m. Sgt. Franklin took a report of extortion through social media.

Saturday, Nov. 6

6:35 a.m. Officers were requested to the 500 block of Eighth Street South for a report of a possible domestic assault. An investigation was made, and a female was arrested.

12:46 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a person believed to be having a mental health issue. A report was filed.

7:07 p.m. Officers responded to 2421 Sixth St. for a report a shoplifting that had occurred. A report was generated, and the incident is under investigation.

9:53 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 100 block of Fifth Avenue South for a disturbance. A report was filed.

9:56 p.m. Officers received a report of theft occurring in the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South. A report was filed.

Sunday, Nov. 7

4:49 a.m. Brookings Police responded to the 300 block of Sixth Avenue for a disturbance. One male was arrested and a report was filed.

6:39 p.m. Officers received a report of a runaway juvenile. A report was filed.

11:12 p.m. Officers responded to the 800 block of Goldenrod Trail to an unattended death. A report was generated.

Monday, Nov. 8

9:42 a.m. Items of child pornography were collected from the residence of a deceased Brookings male.

10:21 a.m. Brookings Police took a report of a stolen bicycle from the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South. A report was generated.

11:52 a.m. Brookings Police responded to an accident. A report was filed.

4:01 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 2200 block of Sixth Street. A city accident report was completed.

Tuesday, Nov. 9

10:31 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of shoplifting from Wal-Mart. The suspects were three high school girls and left before officers arrived. The girls were identified, and charges are pending.

12:46 p.m. A Brookings resident called to file a report of a juvenile incident. The investigation is ongoing.
