11:45 a.m. Officer Asmus took a report of vandalism at Hillcrest Park. A report was filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
1:14 p.m. Officers took a report of possible stolen property located in Brookings. A report was filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
6:52 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the Avera Clinic for an animal bite. A report was filed.
Tuesday, Dec. 4
12:29 a.m. Officer Franklin took a single-vehicle, non-injury accident report.
7:31 a.m. Theft; intentional damage to property $400 or less; first-degree burglary
7:42 a.m. Officer Larsen took a non-injury crash report in the 2200 block of Bluegill Avenue.
11:44 a.m. Department of Social Services referral
12:40 p.m. Officer Bonnema observed an accident take place in the 1300 block of Sixth Street. A state accident report was completed.
3:29 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 700 block of Medary Avenue South. Nobody was injured in the accident. A report was completed.
7:15 p.m. Officer Franklin took a report of a runaway juvenile. The child was located and returned.
Wednesday, Dec. 5

3:57 a.m. Officers conducted a welfare check in the 600 block of 14th Avenue. The individual was later committed involuntarily to seek mental health attention.
10 a.m. Officer Popp took a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the Brickwood Plaza parking lot. A city accident report was filed.
2:17 p.m. Officer Larsen took a report of a hit-and-run crash in the 600 block of Second Street South. It is currently under investigation.
9:07 p.m. Officer DeJong was dispatched to the Brookings ER for an animal bite. A report was filed.
Thursday, Dec. 6
3:19 a.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of Seventh Avenue South for a report of a vehicle’s horn going off for the past half-hour. An investigation led to a DUI arrest. A report was filed.
Friday, Dec. 7
12:40 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for multiple drug charges.
1:49 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop at Fourth Street and Main Avenue for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for DUI and driving revoked.
10:07 a.m. Officers Popp and Pollman took a report of an assault in the 400 block of First Avenue. One female was arrested for simple assault domestic after officers reviewed the security footage.
10:43 a.m. Officer Popp took information from the 400 block of First Avenue in regard to marijuana use inside of a facility. A report was filed and documented.
10:54 a.m. Officers responded to the Brookings County Jail for potential drugs found. A report was filed.
12:29 p.m. Officer Jurrens responded to the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue South for a two-vehicle collision on private property.
5:03 p.m. Officers took a report of a potential theft. A report was filed.
6:13 p.m. A report of a lost juvenile was called in. Officers investigated and found the juvenile to be in Sioux Falls with a friend.
7:10 p.m. Officers responded to a non-injury, two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Medary Avenue South and 15th Street South. A report was filed.
7:33 p.m. Officers took a report of a stolen cell phone from the 1400 block of 15th Street South.
8:23 p.m. Officer Hart responded to the area of Medary Avenue South and Fifth Street South for the report of a traffic complaint. As a result of the complaint, one individual was cited for careless driving.
