‘Sister Act’ starts June 7

BROOKINGS – Prairie Repertory Theatre is set to open its 47th season, with a lineup of “Sister Act,” “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” “Over the River and through the Woods” and “The Full Monty.”



The season opens June 7-11 in Brookings with “Sister Act,” which is based upon the hit movie with Whoopi Goldberg. The second show is a witty musical comedy about the joys and frustrations we all face in relationships called “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.”

A heartwarming family comedy, “Over the River and through the Woods,” follows before the season closes with the highly anticipated “The Full Monty.”

The PRT cast and staff primarily consists of students from around the Midwest but also students from other states and Australia.

Tickets will be available starting May 31 at the Performing Arts Center on the South Dakota State University campus. The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be open an hour before performances in Doner Auditorium. Tickets will be available for purchase online at http://sdstate.tix.com after May 31. One can also call to order tickets at 688-6045.

Performances will be:

• “Sister Act,” June 7-11, Brookings; July 20-23, Brandon;

• “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” June 15-18, Brookings; July 14-16, 19, Brandon;

• “Over the River and through the Woods,” June 21-25, Brookings; July 26-28, Brandon; and

• “The Full Monty,” June 28-July 2, Brookings; July 12-13, July 29-30, Brandon.

Starting July 10, tickets will be available at the Brandon Valley Performing Arts Center in Brandon. The box office in Brandon will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and open an hour before performances.
