BROOKINGS – Above, a sheriff’s department employee shows a tour group the new 24/7 area of the renovated Brookings County Detention Center on Monday. The area will help reroute traffic from the booking area of the jail and is easily accessible from the front door of the detention center.

Below, Sheriff Marty Stanwick leads a tour at the detention center Phase II open house on Monday, explaining the many uses of the conference rooms available within the renovated jail space. The open house was well attended by the public and allowed anyone to see the major differences in how the building was and will be used by the county after a $17 million expansion and renovation project.
