Purdue Fort Wayne sweeps SDSU

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne swept South Dakota State 25-19, 25-11, 25-18 in a Summit League volleyball match Friday night.

Je’Bria Green totaled eight kills and 2 1/2 blocks for the Mastodons (17-12, 8-7), who hit .194 and held an 8-2 advantage in service aces. Madelyn Wurster tallied nine kills and a block assist, while Nicole Rightnowar had eight kills, an ace, a block assist and 16 digs. Sydney Boerst added seven kills, an ace and a block assist.

Madison Jaqua (19) and Victoria Mills (14) combined for 33 set assists. Katie Crowe came up with 12 digs and Elizabeth Britner netted three aces.

The Jackrabbits’ Makenzie Hennen finished with six kills and a block. Payton Richardson contributed five blocks (two solo) and three kills. Ashlynn Smith notched five kills and a block. Sierra Peterson had three kills and a block, and Crystal Burk recorded four kills.

Maddie Fay had 16 set assists, eight digs and an ace. Mattison Munger came up with 10 digs and Ellie Thein seven.

SDSU hit .000 but had a 10-6 advantage in blocks.

SDSU (6-22, 3-12) wraps up the season taking on Western Illinois on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Macomb, Ill.
