VOLGA – Several items, including a Rebekah Scott purse valued at $120 and prescription medicines, were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Friday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The theft was reported at 6 a.m. Friday from the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue in Volga, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.

“A resident of Volga reported that someone entered their 2014 Ford F150 that was parked outside in their driveway of the residence. The vehicle was unlocked, and a pink Rebekah Scott purse valued at $120 was stolen from the vehicle. The purse contained a wallet, a wristlet purse, a checkbook, credit cards, and a medicine bottle with prescription drugs,” Sebring said.

The theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday to when it was noticed at 6 a.m. Friday.
