RAMONA – Orion Albertson rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown as Oldham-Ramona/Rutland closed the regular season with a 32-18 win over Castlewood on Friday night.

Albertson also caught four passes for 32 yards.

“Orion [Albertson] had some big runs for us and the offensive line did a fine job of paving the way for him,” Raiders head coach Logan DeRungs said.

Will Matson completed 8-of-16 passes for 80 yards and two scores and picked up 56 yards on 13 carries with two more touchdowns.

Isaac Trygstad hauled in two receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown and Will Olson added a pair of catches for 14 yards and a score.

Olson and Carter Wermers each recovered a fumble for the Raiders while Trygstad and Caden Hojer both recorded sacks.

“I thought Will Olson played quite well at his cornerback position,” DeRungs remembered. “He stopped a couple deep passes and came up to make some nice perimeter tackles. Isaac Trygstad did a really nice job with pressuring the quarterback.”

The Raiders finished the regular season 4-4 and qualified as the No. 10 seed in class 9A. They will face the number seven seed Wolsey-Wessington on Thursday at 7 p.m.

“Pass protection is something we will work at this week to prepare for Wolsey-Wessington,” DeRungs added.

Castlewood earned the No. 9 seed in class 9A and will play Kadoka Area at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

“Castlewood is pretty beaten up, but they are still a good team with some very athletic kids,” DeRungs said. “They will be a tough out in the playoffs.”

Herrid/Selby Area is the No. 1 seed in Class 9A and Howard is the No. 2 seed. Those two schools will have home field advantage until the championship game at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
