Rain halts opening night play in Class A

BROOKINGS – Yankton second baseman Alex Mueller fires to first for an out during the second inning of his team’s game against Castlewood in the opening round of the Class A State Amateur Baseball Tournament on Friday night at Bob Shelden Field in Brookings.

The contest was suspended due to the weather with the Tappers leading the Ravens 6-2 with one out in the top of the sixth.

The game is scheduled to resume today at 9 a.m., followed by the Cubs/Sioux Falls Squirrels game at approximately 10:30 p.m.
