Randy Steever, 63, of Volga, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.  

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2019 at Rude’s Funeral Home, Brookings.

 Randy Steever was born on Jan. 4, 1956, the son of Teddy and Shirley (Hays) Steever.  He grew up and attended school in the Brookings. 

 He was united in marriage to Winona Wright on June 4, 1977.  They made their home in Vermillion.  She passed away June 13, 1982.  He moved to Mitchell with his family.  He attended Mitchell Tech and graduated as Power Lineman.  He worked for Forby Contracting until 1993.  He then started Steever Trucking until 1998.  He then went back to work for Forby Contracting from 2001 to 2016.  He then worked for Reed Intermill Trucking until he retired April of 2018.

 In 1993, he met Deb Garvin and they moved their families out to Lake Campbell where they have lived since.

 He loved golfing with his sons and friends, he loved hunting of all kinds and fishing, he enjoyed camping enjoying the outdoors.  He enjoyed watching Old Westerns.  He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren were very important to him.  He enjoyed helping anyone that needed help fixing things, he could fix anything.  He touched the hearts of everyone he met.

 Randy is survived by his lifetime partner, Deb Garvin of Volga; four sons, Benjamin LeBeau of Hinckley, MN, Kristopher Linneman of Yankton, Randy R. Steever, Jr. of Volga, and Brandon Linneman Volga; one daughter, Tracy Steever of Vermillion; five grandchildren, Caitlen Evans, Karissa Linneman, Kaden Linneman, Sage LeBeau and Winona Hughes; his mother, Shirley Steever of Volga; two brothers, Larry Steever of Aurora and Ricky Steever of Volga and one sister, Linda Gerhardt of Volga.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Winona and his father, Teddy.
