Ranger girls wrap up regular season with win

BROOKINGS – The Rangers beat Watertown 7-2 in a South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association girls’ game Saturday afternoon at Larson Ice Center.

Savannah Barber racked up six points, netting a hat trick while also dishing out three assists.

Brooklyn Roberts added two goals and an assist.

Alexis Schelske and Janaya Kuehl both contributed one goal and one assist.

Montana Myer had three assists and Addison Ramlo added one.

Brookings led 3-0 after a period and 6-1 through two.

Marina Gerstner made 20 saves to earn the win in goal.

The Lakers’ Jaclyn Lloyd had a pair of unassisted goals. Sydnie Young stopped 31 shots.

Brookings finished the regular season with an 11-4-0-1 record and is the No. 3 seed in the state tournament, which is March 6-8 in Fort Pierre.
