Brookings deserves strong leaders in Pierre who take the concerns, ideas and aspirations of our community with them.
I have been blessed with a Brookings education through and through, from attending Hillcrest, Camelot, MMS and Brookings High School to continuing my education at South Dakota State. The educational opportunities in Brookings are the result of hard work and dedication from our elected leaders to ensure the best for students in Brookings.
Mellissa Heermann shook my hand as I walked across the stage as a BHS graduate, and I always looked forward to hearing Dr. DeGroot’s voice on snowy days in Brookings as school was getting called off.
As a young voter, I want my leaders to have the past, present and future of Brookings in mind when they cast their vote in the Legislature, leaders dedicated to improving our community and tackling issues, not making noise. With these two in Pierre, we can rest easy knowing our community will never be forgotten and never be counted out.
The leadership these two showcased in our community is one reason I will be casting my ballot for them. With a genuine approach to the issues facing our community and our state, I have full confidence that Heermann and DeGroot will provide District 7 with the best representation possible.
Early voting has already begun, and election day is June 7. I will be supporting Roger DeGroot and Mellissa Heermann for District 7 House, and I hope you will join me.
