Downtown at Sundown starts Thursday

Posted

BROOKINGS – The Brookings Convention & Visitors Bureau is back with another summer of Downtown at Sundown.

Come to the 300 block of Fifth Street in downtown Brookings from 5-9 p.m. every Thursday for local musicians, regional headliner acts, free face painting, inflatables, bag toss, and food and beverage vendors from local restaurants. The series runs through the end of summer with the final festival taking place Aug. 23.

This week’s performance features local opener SaltBark. The leader of the band, Dave Barkus, is a former member of SGT Rock.

The CVB is putting the band back together as they welcome back one of its headliners from last year, SGT Rock. This high-energy band never ceases to amaze with killer dance moves and dynamic vocals. Be prepared to sing along, and bring your dancing shoes.

Downtown at Sundown is a free event for all ages. The kid zone inflatables, face painting and bag toss are all free. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket booth to buy food and beverages. Each vendor is serving something different, ranging in price from one to seven tickets. For more information, visit www.downtownatsundown.org.
