Robert E. Moberg, 91, of Bruce, died on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at United Living Community in Brookings.  

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, at Gracepoint Wesleyan Church in Brookings.  Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

Robert (Bob) E. Moberg was born on March 1, 1926, in Arco, Minn.  He was the son of Carl and Edith (Hazel) Moberg.  Bob moved with his parents as an infant to the Seattle area.  At the age of 9, he returned with his parents to Minnesota.  He attended Agricultural High School in Morris, Minn.  After receiving his education, he farmed with his dad for 15 years near Arco, Minn.  In his younger years, he drove semi-truck during the winter months.  He hauled grain and produce from Canada to the seaports in Seattle for the military men fighting during the Korean Conflict. Bob and his parents later moved to Breckenridge, Minn., where he farmed from 1955 until 1965.  On Dec. 11, 1955, Bob and Marilyn Jean Leins were married at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hendricks, Minn.  

In the winter of 1965, Bob and Marilyn moved to the West Front Farm, 14 miles north of Brookings on Old Highway 77. where he farmed and fed cattle.  He semi-retired from farming in 2009.  However, he continued to assist his sons with farming throughout the remainder of his years including his harvesting crops in the fall of 2016 with his John Deere Model 9400 combine.

 Robert (Bob) was a member of Gracepoint Wesleyan Church and served as usher and trustee.  

He was also a member of the schoolboard for the Brushvale, Minn., school district.  Bob enjoyed farming with his John Deere equipment and flying his Cessna 150 airplane.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Moberg, of Bruce; his children: Carlene M. (Ben) Taheri of Burnsville, Minn., Darvin R. (Trudy) Moberg  of Bruce, David L. (Gerelyn) Moberg of White, Jolene E. (Chris) Lee of Madison and Doyle G. (Jodi) Moberg of White; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Moberg, and one grandson, Jonathan Moberg.
