Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in the spring.
Sandy was born September 26, 1945, in Minnesota to John and Dorothy Glick. Sandy graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1963. After graduation she worked as a waitress, as a teller at New Brighton Bank, and as a key punch operator. She married Jerry Brown in 1964, and they had a son, Troy. In 1973, she married Frank Sybrant and had a daughter, Tammy. In 1988, she married the love of her life, David Knutson, who brought four children to their union. They were married for 32 years. Sandy was a very hard worker and held positions in waitressing, bartending, quality control at Falcon Plastics, and a beloved lunch lady position at Hillcrest Elementary.
Sandy was kind, compassionate, funny, and fiercely independent. She earned the nickname “Boss”, because at 4’11” she ruled the roost. Her family let her lovingly nickname her husband’s remodeled hog barn the “dumb shed.” It held lots of family gathering with meals, love, and laughter. She loved her girlfriend get-aways and always looked forward to the next one. She enjoyed camping, trips to Texas, shopping, and family get togethers.
She always felt it was “5’oclock somewhere.” She was an avid supporter of Cossack Athletics and tried to watch as many sporting events as possible. She truly enjoyed getting to know people, and could tell you many things about the kids and grandkids, such as favorite foods, days off, and birthdays. She loved her trips to Northern Minnesota to visit Anna and Elmer, family, and friends. We just knew we were having fun, we didn’t know we were making memories.
Sandy is survived by her husband, David Knutson; son, Troy (Esmeralda) Brown; daughter, Tammy (Ryan) Schiller; grandsons: Tyge, Jaxton, and Boden Schiller; step-children: Debra (Bud) Michael, Mary Jo (Karl) Pepperman, David (Jen) Knutson, and Robert (Mindie) Knutson; step-grandchildren: Kelli (Jimmy) Blair, Brittnee (Brad Besemer) Michael, Joshua (Taryn) Michael, Zachary Pepperman, Jessica Pepperman, Hayden (Casey) Knutson, David Knutson, Brooke Knutson, Carson Knutson, Rylee Knutson, and Dilan “Holly” Chambers; 5 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Patty (Duane) Shuck, and Peggy (Lyle) Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Susan Lynette Glick; and her parents, John and Dorothy Glick.
The “Boss” leaves a big hole in all of our hearts. We are comforted in knowing that she is free and no longer in pain. Her family and friends hold tight to their memories with her.
