BROOKINGS –  South Dakota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program, announced Amy Hockett with Sanford Clinic Brookings was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of her service member employee.

The Patriot Award, created by ESGR, recognizes individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who, like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.

Hockett was nominated for being highly supportive of her employee, who serves in the ARNG 730th ASMC PG3AA National Guard out of Vermillion.

Taylor Cimpl said she nominated Hockett for the award to thank her for her support of her duties in the Navy Reserve, including flexible schedules, time off for inspections and training time, and allowing her time to care for her military family, as well as her family at home.

Mary De Leeuw, ESGR volunteer, said that walking into the Sanford Clinic Brookings she was pleased to see a flag from each military branch and the American flag proudly displayed in the lobby of the clinic.

ESGR seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
