BROOKING – Charges are pending against a high school student after he disrupted class with inappropriate language Friday, according to Brookings Police.
The incident was reported at 9:37 a.m. Friday and occurred at Brookings High School, Lt. Marci Gebers said.
“One of our School Resource Officers at the Brookings High School was made aware of a student who was causing a disturbance in class. He was being disruptive; he was using inappropriate language and refusing to leave the classroom when asked by staff,” Gebers said.
“He did comply with our school resource officer, and charges are pending for disturbance of school,” Gebers said.
Because the student was a juvenile, she couldn’t release the student’s name, Gebers added.
There were no injuries.
