SDSU defeats Air Force Academy

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The South Dakota State soccer team finished its nonconference schedule Monday night. The Jackrabbits beat the Air Force Academy 1-0 and improved to 9-1 on the season.

It was the third-straight shutout for SDSU and sixth time this season the Jacks have shut out an opponent. SDSU has outscored its opponents 30-6 in the nonconference.

Eden Brooker scored the loan goal of the match. She broke the tie in the 69th minute of the match. The goal was assisted by Cece Limongi.

SDSU had 13 shots and five on goal. The Falcons had seven shots and three on goal. Jocelyn Tanner made all of the saves for the Jacks.

Maya Hansen had four shots and one on goal. Kayla Wisniewski had three shots and one on goal. Eden Bookers lone shot was the goal. Limongi had one shot and it was on goal. Laney Murdzek, Kayla Anderson, Karlee Manding and Abigail Kastens all had one shot.

The Jacks had five corners and the Falcons had four. Air Force had nine fouls and SDSU had seven.

SDSU now has 10 days off before opening up conference play. The Jacks host Western Illinois on Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. They will then take on Summit League newcomer on Oct. 3 in Brookings and 1 p.m.
