BROOKINGS – The Jackrabbit men’s basketball team has announced dates for its 2019 summer camps. South Dakota State will host two day camp sessions (June 2-4 and 18-20), a skills camp June 16-17 and a team camp June 21-22.
Camps will be led by the Jackrabbit head coach Eric Henderson and the SDSU coaching staff, along with current Jackrabbit student-athletes. Camps provide each individual with an excellent opportunity to work on skill development and implement what is learned into competitive situations in first-class facilities. The camps will allow each camper to receive individual instruction for his position, plus will allow for plenty of fun in numerous competitions that will be held.
Both day camps are open to younger players – kindergarten through eighth grade – and run over three-day periods. The clinic cost is $90 per camper and includes training and camp t-shirt.
The skills camp is designed for players in grades six through 12, and will run Sunday (1-8:30 p.m.) and Monday (8:30-11:30 a.m.). Costs for the camp vary:
Resident ($115) – Includes all meals, room and camp t-shirt. Resident campers stay overnight in air-conditioned campus residence halls.
Commuter ($90) – Includes dinner and a camp t-shirt. These campers commute in but attend all training sessions.
Team camps are designed to give high school teams (grades nine through 12) the opportunity to compete against quality competition. Teams are guaranteed three games each day, and teams can choose between one ($270 per team) or two days ($500 per team).
