BROOKINGS – The South Dakota State men's basketball team has added a charity exhibition with South Dakota School of Mines to its 2017-18 preseason schedule in an effort to raise awareness and financial support for hurricane relief efforts nationwide.

The exhibition will replace the Blue and Yellow scrimmage on Nov. 2, with tipoff set for 8:15 p.m. at Frost Arena following the women's exhibition against Northern State.

With support from both athletic departments, the schools requested a waiver from the NCAA to add an additional exhibition game to the preseason schedule with 100 percent of the net proceeds given to a charity whose efforts benefit residents affected by recent hurricanes. The teams have partnered with the Florida Disaster Fund.

"To be able to partner with Coach Henry at South Dakota School of Mines and support the many people affected by the recent hurricanes is something extremely important to both of us," SDSU coach T.J. Otzelberger said. "The Brookings community has continuously shown a desire to lend a helping hand, and we hope they'll come out to support a great cause."

Tickets for the doubleheader are available for purchase through the Jackrabbit Ticket Office. Upper reserved tickets are available starting at $25, with adult general admission prices set at $20. Youth (ages 3-17) general admission tickets are $12.

Season ticket holders will be able to attend the game as part of their package, using the women's exhibition ticket for the same date.

Orders can be placed weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in person at the Jackrabbit Ticket Office, or over the phone at (605) 688-5422. Orders are also accepted online at JackrabbitTickets.com.

The Jackrabbit Sports Network will broadcast the game live on WNAX 570 AM and 99.9 FM, with free audio stream available through the Jackrabbit All-Access Portal. Live video will not be available.

The Jackrabbits and Hardrockers have played each other in exhibition the last three years, with SDSU claiming an 85-64 win in last season's meeting.
