Four South Dakota State University football players, including three-first team selections, have been named to the 2017 HERO Sports Football Championship Subdivision All-America Team.

Headlining the Jackrabbit selections was senior tight end Dallas Goedert. A native of Britton, Goedert finished as the team leader with 72 receptions and 1,111 receiving yards, while adding seven touchdown catches. His receiving total leads all Division I tight ends – FCS and FBS – this season.

A unanimous All-America selection, Goedert also was honored on the Walter Camp FCS All-America Team, which is determined through a vote among the subdivision’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Also earning first-team All-America recognition on the offensive side of the ball from HERO Sports was center Jacob Ohnesorge. A senior from Waunakee, Wisconsin, Ohnesorge wrapped up a career in which he tied an SDSU record by starting 53 games – all at center – and anchored a Jackrabbit offensive unit that averaged 37.2 points and 438.6 yards of total offense per game. He earlier was announced as a first-team selection to the Associated Press All-America team and a second-team pick by Phil Steele.

Ohnesorge also was tabbed as the FCS recipient of the Rimington Award as the top center in his college football classification.

Completing the Jackrabbits’ first-team honorees was sophomore kicker Chase Vinatieri. A Sioux Falls native, Vinatieri broke his own single-season school record with 58 extra points and converted 13-of-14 field goal tries, including a long of 55 yards in the second round of the FCS playoffs against Northern Iowa. Vinatieri also scored a touchdown on a fake field goal, giving him 103 points in 2017.

Receiving second-team All-America honors from HERO Sports was sophomore linebacker Christian Rozeboom. The Sioux Center, Iowa, native registered a team-best 127 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He recorded 10 or more tackles in seven contests, while adding two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a blocked kick.

Rozeboom previously was honored on All-America teams selected by the American Football Coaches Association (second team), Phil Steele (second team), STATS (second team) and The Associated Press (third team).
