Brown to be on display at NFL Combine

INDIANAPOLIS – Former South Dakota State cornerback Jordan Brown will take the next step in pursuing a professional playing career by participating in the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Brown is scheduled to report Friday for registration, orientation and interviews. He will go through a series of examinations and testing, along with additional interviews Saturday and Sunday, before wrapping up with on-field workouts Monday.

Coverage of the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine is available on NFL Network.

A native of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brown was a three-year starter for the Jackrabbits. He was honored as a first-team all-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection in both 2017 and 2018, and was named to multiple Football Championship Subdivision All-America squads following his senior season.

Brown, who earned an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl all-star game, led the Jackrabbits with 12 pass breakups and ranked second with three interceptions during his senior year. He also forced a fumble and registered 29 total tackles, 22 of which were solo stops.

Heading into the Combine, Brown is projected by many ratings services as a mid-round pick in the NFL Draft, which is scheduled for April 25-27. Brown is the third SDSU football player in the last two years to earn an invitation to the Combine, joining Dallas Goedert and Jake Wieneke from the 2017 team. Goedert went on to be a second-round selection by the Philadelphia Eagles, while Wieneke spent training camp with the Minnesota Vikings after signing as a free agent, and is currently a member of the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League.
